Stockings are hung ...

Is this not the cutest little Christmas card?

I made this card for our monthly Team meeting challenge and card swap to showcase Holiday mini finds we love ... well I just love the Stocking Builder punch, the Holly Bouquet DSP and glitter paper, little Jingle Bell embellishments in the mini and the new Snowburst embossing folder and the Dazzling Details accents ... well I could go on and on the Mini is full of amazing products and I manged to squeeze many of them into this card.

If you are ever interested in seeing what a Team meeting is like or just participating in a card swap let me know cause I am allowed to bring guests - it costs $5 and you would be eligible for door prizes in addition to getting to make awesome cards and have great fun!

A La Card Monkey Challenge 75

Finally had some time to play along at A La Card Monkey this week ... been lurking with longing but did not have time to carve out!

However excited to get to play along  with the following sketch and a Christmas theme!

So here is my inspiration ... featuring the Greeting Card Kids image water colored and two way glue pen used to give some Dazzling Diamond accents and paired with the Snow Swirled snowflakes  and sentiments and a little Jingle Bell accent on our Bakers Twine.

Thanks for stopping by!

The 'Ugly Paper' challenge

So for the Scrap and Crop event this past weekend we had an 'Ugly Paper' challenge where each person in our group brought a piece of what they felt was 'ugly paper' from their stash and some accompanying papers. We than randomly exchanged papers with others and than were challenged to come up with a layout hopefully turning the 'ugly paper' into something useful.

This is the two page layout I created using my Ugly paper I received with the brown accent paper and the black circle accent ... which I used to scrap so photos of me doing my school co-op placements back in high-school!
The minute I opened up the bag to reveal my paper I just knew that the Precious Butterfly stamp set was perfect to bring out the beauty in the paper !

I cut the larger pieces of paper in half and removed an inch from both pieces of the brown and punched them along with the Pinking Hearts Border and mounted both the patterned paper with a brown trip and brown embossed strip on a So Saffron back drop.

I than embossed the brown with the Precious Butterfly stamp set in clear and the Black circle with Copper embossing powder (no retired) and than accented the Butterfly Wings Embosslit folder and some half back pearls!

And while this color combination is not something that would have jumped out at me in a store I am pleased with how well it came together and was totally impressed to see how everyone else turned their 'ugly papers' into works of art!

Scrap & Crop Weekend

A huge thank you to Alicia from Crop Scene Inc for an amazing Scrap and Crop Weekend retreat ... truly had an amazing time!

My first scrapping retreat and I really enjoyed the whole thing ... the energy in the room and seeing some amazing new ideas and tricks for layouts!

I finally made my 'title page' for my first scrapbook which has long since been a work in progress scrapping photos from my family and childhood!

I had fun with the Petite Pennant Builder punch for my title and went with vintage colors but with some glitter and distressing.
I paired the now retired Sense of Time with the Medallion stamp set for my back ground and layering with the Scallop punch to make some flowers!
It was a productive weekend and I was able to complete of 14 layouts which I look forward to sharing.

Uncharted Territory ...

This is a card from tonight's Faux Stain Glass technique workshop ... I am loving this technique ... it is a little messy kinda like finger painting - but I find it very relaxing to move the colors around until you get the effect your like!

One of the things I like about techniques like this are that no too cards end up looking alike ... it allows everyone's creative juice to flow as they add colors and move them around!

Faux Stain Glass

Here is another sample I made to practice this technique for my Technique Tuesday workshop tomorrow night ... just love how it looks like a stormy sky with the Upsy Daisy's down in the front ... the technique like anything in life definitely improves the more you play with it!

This card color combo features Pink Pirouette and Elegant Eggplant with a bit of Wisteria Wonder for good measure!

Positive Vibes for Philis

Found some time to hide in my craft room this weekend and get caught up on preparing for upcoming classes and making some Card Warrior offerings for Rhonda Wades Project Hope.

Today's a 'multitasking' initiative which allowed me to create samples to showcase at my upcoming 'Faux Stain Glass' Technique Tuesday class ... as well as create a card for Ms. Philis Bukovcik who needs our positive thoughts and vibes of strength during her fight of Ovarian Cancer ... may she feel our strength and courage on her journey.

Rhonda Wades Project Hope

I wanted to take a minute to share this awesome initiative by Rhonda Wade with my fellow Stampers and Bloggers ... I signed up to support this today and hope many others do too!

Project H.O.P.E.
Helping Other People Everywhere!
" I would love for you to join in with me by being a prayer warrior or card warrior or both. I will email you when there is a need for a card or for a prayer as they come through.
Join me in using our stamping hobby and love of crafting to brighten someones day when they are in need. We have a unique situation to be surrounded by women with families and friends that will go through lifes struggles, and I hope our prayers and cards will help them experience God's love in a tangible way.
I personally will be donating 10% of my earning from my Train with Ronda business to also donate financially to situations that the board of directors is in agreement with. Donations will be accepted and fundraisers will be done in the future. For now...we really need card and prayer warriors. We will be honored to be able to pray for those in need.
Thank you so much for joining me in sharing our passion for stamping, serving, loving, and touching lives on a daily basis."
Stamped Blessings,

What a wonderful way to pay it forward through our craft than by supporting those in need with both our prayers and reaching out with a 'card hug' to someone in need!

Love it!
