Showcasing the Berry Basket Die

This weeks weekly deals are awesome! My favorite is the awesome Berry Basket die so I am going to showcase just a few of the many many reasons WHY it is a must have in your crafter's kit.

It is SO versatile! I love any product that can be used over more than once occasion and for more than one use! These are the type of products that make it to my must have and must never resell no matter how packed full of goodness my craft room gets list!

Not only can it be used as shown in this cute little video from Stampin' Up!

It is AMAZING just how creative paper crafters can BE with transforming it into other uses!

The 'Ugly Paper' challenge

So for the Scrap and Crop event this past weekend we had an 'Ugly Paper' challenge where each person in our group brought a piece of what they felt was 'ugly paper' from their stash and some accompanying papers. We than randomly exchanged papers with others and than were challenged to come up with a layout hopefully turning the 'ugly paper' into something useful.

This is the two page layout I created using my Ugly paper I received with the brown accent paper and the black circle accent ... which I used to scrap so photos of me doing my school co-op placements back in high-school!
The minute I opened up the bag to reveal my paper I just knew that the Precious Butterfly stamp set was perfect to bring out the beauty in the paper !

I cut the larger pieces of paper in half and removed an inch from both pieces of the brown and punched them along with the Pinking Hearts Border and mounted both the patterned paper with a brown trip and brown embossed strip on a So Saffron back drop.

I than embossed the brown with the Precious Butterfly stamp set in clear and the Black circle with Copper embossing powder (no retired) and than accented the Butterfly Wings Embosslit folder and some half back pearls!

And while this color combination is not something that would have jumped out at me in a store I am pleased with how well it came together and was totally impressed to see how everyone else turned their 'ugly papers' into works of art!

Scrapbooking Flashbacks

A couple weeks ago I attended a Scrapbook afternoon with my upline Liz and we made this wonderful layout using the Celebrations Quick Accents on page 176 of the catty only I forgot my photos at home so had to finish my layout later - well I just had a few minutes to do it and decided that I would add a 'second page' rather than trying to get all my Wonderland photos onto the one page.

Right side layout inspired by Liz's design ...

Left side layout created at home ... I do not have the Circle Circus stamp nor the Celebrations quick accents papers - set so had to improvise to make a coordinating page drawing on the colors from the set and using some punches ... which is one of the things I love about Stampin' Up!

Side by side view of the pages ... hard to believe it was over 30 years ago Wonderland opened its doors ... cause this trip was taken in August 1981!

Woodland Walk Scrapbooking

Here is a layout from my upline Liz's scrapbook class - fun with chipboard and the crop-o-dile! I am loving getting some of my really OLD photos finally blinged up in a scrapbook and out of the ole shoebox!

This designer series paper is so cute ... nice colours for a variety of seasons and occasions!
