Enchanted Elegance for OWH

Wow ... feels great to slowly be reentering the land of the human beings ... spent the past week trying to keep a nasty cold that has been going around at bay and well some days it felt like I was loosing the battle but this morning I am feeling like I might have finally won the war and carved out some time to blog before I have to tackle the weekend chores while I have the energy to!

So so excited that Sale-a-bration formally started this week and the catalog this year is full of some wonderful treasures for us and are now available to customers with every $60 purchase!

This card features Everyday Enchanted Designer Series Paper, the Enchanted Ribbon and Brad collection and the stamp set Elementary Elegance all FREE from Sale-a-bration catalog!
I used this Sketch Challenge from over at Operation Write Home for my layout inspiration incorporating the Top Note die and using the Pretty Postage punch instead of squares and a the 1 1/4 inch squares behind instead of a larger strip ... t his is the great thing about sketches as you can follow exactly or use them as a jumping point  ... hop on over and check out the other awesome entries and see how you get inspired!

Just Add Ink Color Q challenge

Combined the following three challenges to create my Masculine Fall cards for OWH this month ... just have to learn how to do my 'envelope tuck' and I can send out a bunch for the end of the month!

Click the photos to links to the awesome website challenges and to see other peoples inspirations from these sketches!

And here are my offerings inspired by the above sketches ... I was inspired by the Just Add Ink photo to pull out my Lovely as a Tree Stamp set ... and the Color Q inkspiration of Black, Basic Grey, More Mustard (do not have Crushed Curry anymore as it is retired) and Tangerine Tango.

I am loving the new Peekaboo Frame die cause it is awesome for creating 'sentiments' on card bases ... for this card I used the Petite Pairs stamp set for the sentiment of I am here for you - no matter what!

Note to self in future - sponge your sentiment inside before you glue it in otherwise the ink does not stick to the glue - however I like the 'marble look' it created  it looks better in real life!

This is another offering using the same Inkspirations  but I changes up the layout a wee bit ... to be honest this was an accident card I tries to salvage ... as I accidentally cut one of my pieces wrong for the OWH sketch and wanted to savage of the brayer work I had done.
I used the Jewellery Tag punch and the Tiny Tags to add a little hint of sentiment to the front ... and tied it all together with a Vintage brad and some black grosgrain ribbon!

Thanks for stopping by

Welcome to the OWH Blog Hop

I am so excited to participate in my first ever blog hop with Operation Write Home and honored to have you stopping by to take a peek at my Stampin' inspirations!

As the spouse of an amazing man who served almost 25 years and participated in many tours over seas before retiring in 2009 from medical reasons I am proud to now be able to support Operation Write Home. Sometimes I wish I could do more as it is such a small thing to do to help them stay in touch with loved  - but it means so much to them and their families!

These are the men and women who risk their lives both at home and over seas to help keep us safe and ensuring that we are able to enjoy the many freedoms we often take for granite - my heart and my gratitude goes out to them daily!

Now on to the cardmaking .... I wanted to share a card with my favorite little Christmas Greeting Girl from the Stampin Up Greeting Card Kids stamp set! She is such a sweetie and so much fun to color with our Stamp Write Watercolor markers and my Aqua Painter.

I also love how you can use one stamp set to make so many different cards by just tweaking the layout and embellishments. Here are a few more cards I made to share today using the same materials but changing up the layouts and embellishments slightly ... I will than package these up and half of them are going to OWL and the other half I will sell them to help raise money for my Run for the Cure this year...equally supporting my passions!

If you would like to support the Operation Write home initiative there are so many ways to do so ... visit here to learn how to donate your handmade cards for soldiers to use when over seas to keep in touch with their loved ones back home or please follow the link to give a cash donation ...

Button Buddies encore

Here is another card inspired by the OWH challenge this week ... featuring once again the Pocketful of Posies DSP with the Poppy Parade cardbase and a Naturals White Top Note frame which was stamped in Poppy Parade with the coordinating My Friend stamp set that goes with this DSP.
I used the Big Shot and Ovals Die to cut two ovals one in our Red Glimmer paper and the smaller in Naturals White and using the Button Buddies set I hand colored the floral focal point and than versamark embossed the vase in clear to give it depth - and finished it off with some small buttons and some Victorian lace!
