Mojo Monday 171 Challenge

Well it has been a busy week with Christmas travels and so forth so once again I am multi-tasking in the craft room trying to complete a few goals all in one card!

Today's card is inspired by the Mojo Monday challenge - I just love seeing all the vastly different cards participants make with the similar layout!

I opted for creating a 4x4 square card as I am currently out of 6x6 envelopes and well this card will fit in a standard envelope.
In addition this card is for my upcoming 'card swap' with my team. So for this swap the criteria was to create a card that showcases your current favorite set - as I have so many favorites I chose the Greeting Card kids cause I was in the mood to water colour...and well she is just SO cute!

In my multitasking efforts this cute little card also is showcasing the Filled with Love Bundle promotion that we currently going on by showcasing the Love Patterns Designer series paper as well as the Filled With Love stamp set...can't you just see yourself making some homemade Valentines and scrapbook layouts with this cute set!

And finally a little sneak peek from the upcoming Occasions mini with the marvelous Real Red Glitter paper and some Rhinestone gem bling on my sentiment...I am hosting an Open House on Saturday January 8th for anyone who wants to come check out all the goodies the new mini catalog has to offer and make a couple projects!

Scrapbooking Sketch

Yup I am getting addicted to the My Digital Studio Saturday sketches! Think I might have to go back to the beginning to catch up on the ones I missed!

These are just so much fun and help you think outside the box getting your inspiration started with a different layout challenge or different ways to use embellishments!

With this challenge I used the new Blueberry Crisp Designer Series paper download as well as my favorite Elements of Style and In a Word stamp sets and thew in a little Vintage Vogue for good measure - they looks so good with my awesomely handsome men!

Huge thank you to Alesha Walls
a fellow demo for getting each weeks sketch going!

Decor Elements

Finally had a few moments to whip up my Vintage Ornaments painting ... I so love how simple yet pretty these are to make!

Paint a canvas with the colour scheme of your choice starting lightest to darker colours ... so this one was using a white acrylic paint for the background and than a few drops of Old Olive reinker dropped over and brushed through to make it look like the background of a 'tree'. Let dry and than apply your decor element of choice!

Tip for paint use - do not use a 'pearlized' paint though cause the decor elements do not seem to want to stick to anything pearl or glossy textured - it needs to be a flat paint for best results ... you can add a pearl or glitter to your surface after adding the decor element for bling effect just be careful to avoid the decor element :)

Northern Flurry meets Tags Til Xmas

This is another Conventions swap card I am sharing today for those who might not be finished their Christmas card making yet - love the way the donor paired the Northern Flurry emboss folder with the Tags til Christmas ornament ... a simple but elegant looking card!

Mojo Monday 169 and Colour Q Challenge

So this week with all the snow we have been having and the cramping that puts of getting outside with the kiddies - I tried to take advantage of the mayhem repeated days of indoor play causes too find some time to play around with this weeks Mojo Monday Challenge to help recharge my poor old snow beaten soul!
I also figured while I was at it I might as well trying the Colour Q challenge

So since I did not have the traditional coloured paper for the Colour challenge I initially thought 'oh fudge I cannot play' but than I thought HEY yes I can ... I can play with some of the new downloads from My Digital Studio and so came up with the following electronic card design - which for some reason when I saved off centered the bleed section on me :( but anyway something a little different than a Christmas card.

Scrapbooking Sketch

So over at the My Digital Studio website they have some cool challenges to play along to and i finally found some time to play again.

So this weeks challenge was this layout ...

Which inspired this front page from our Staycation to Niagara Falls in 2008 along with the remaining 3 pages of the spread. I was able to squeeze in using my new est digital downloads ... the Just Believe stamp set as well as the new Glimmer brad and the Decorative label and ribbon punch downloads!

Candle class

Decembers technique class is 'stamping on candles' ... below are a few of the samples participants will be able to use as a inspiration for making their own candles!

This technique is so elegant looking making a candle personalized as a gift ... and so easy to do and with a tweak of practice!

Dasher and his wife candle ...
Snow Swirled candle ...
Delightful Decoration candle

You can this technique with just about any stamp set that inspires you!

Keeping Warm by the Fire

Is this not the coolest card - I received it at the Regional Convention Swap ... I love the use of the 2 Step Bird as the 'fire' and the Word Window as the logs! The Lovely as a Tree stamped off in the background and sponging using a mask technique!

I think this is a nice gender neutral card the would be awesome for a person who loves the outdoors for a birthday or in the spring for Fathers Day!

Medallion Snowflake

Yet another of my favorite stamps - this one is so versatile...inked up with the stampin spots in several blue shades and paired with some basic grey paper and ribbon and the Noel from the Many Merry Message set ... and of course some dazzling diamonds bling adhered with 2 way glue!

2011 MDS Calendar

Here is one of the projects I have been busy working on this past few days in that 'spare craft time' I would normally be down in the craft room.

Creating a personalized 2011 calendar for the in-laws!

My Digital Studio is allowing me to make a much more 'professional' looking one than my last attempts over the years using WORD and clip art with photos inserted!

Just loving the versatility of the My Digital Studio - not only for scrapbooking but in gift giving as well!
