Spooky Things

I have been eying the Stampin' Up! Decor Elements forever thinking they look SO cool ... I have seen them in lots of demonstrators homes and blogs however admit I was a bit afraid to tinker with something I had never used!

So a huge thank you to my upline Liz for pushing me out of my comfort zone and inspiring me to use some Stampin' Up! Decor Elements at her recent class ... cause tinkering with the support of a group of other women takes the edge off making a mistake with them :)

I am so happy with the way mine turned out - I cannot wait until I have some free time this weekend to do up the rest of the Spooky Things items that came with this kit as well as my Eastern Blooms set that came with my starters kit... and my next order getting placed is definitely going to have some additional Decor Elements items for the upcoming seasons added to it ... and the wish list of Stampin' must haves grows once again!

Have a spooktacular day all!

Serene Snowflakes

In my rush this weekend I forgot to take a photo of my Swap card for the Regional Conference in Hamilton.

So here is the next best thing - this is a card I used to inspire my swap share for the Regional conference ... although for the swap I used the Serene Snowflakes instead of the Snow Swirled one; I made a Marina Mist paper ribbon I made by stamping with snowflakes in Marina Mist and ran it through the crimper and I used a different sentiment to showcase the new Decorative label from the Holiday mini ... it was a quick and simple card because with all my prep for the Run for the Cure - it was 10 pm on Friday night when I started making the 30 swap cards ... and with a 4 am wake up call to head to the Conference quick and easy was on my mind ;)

Setting up for Gilbraltar!!!

I am so excited about this weekend! We were able to go tonight and set up - which is awesome as tomorrow I am the Stampin' Up! Regional Conference and have a wonderful dear friend and her mom manning my booth for me!

Overview of my portion of the table - my dear sweet friend Susan is setting up on the second table tomorrow morning!

Close up of my display board and card samples ...

My 'Run for the Cure' advertisement to help spread the word!

My wares ... it is amazing how quickly a table fills up so we had to go with setting out 'one' of each item and hid the rest under the tables ... not to self next time we need at least two tables each cause I have a feeling Susan is going to find the same thing tomorrow ;)

I hope everyone can come on out and support this awesome cause - in addition to the cards and items for sale I am also holding a Raffle for some door prizes and selling tickets for $2 each or 3 for $5!

Thanks for your support!

Marvelous Magnets

Here are some more 'think pink for the Cure' themed offerings for the Run the Gibraltar Fair this weekend!

Using the Beautiful Butterflies Bigz Doe as well as the Big Heart Punch I created some pretty funky fridge magnets and pins for interested customers!

The Butterflies are stamped with a number of different images and have some Dazzling diamond and Pearl accents to give them some awesome flair and all are sponged around the edges with Melon Mambo for that think pink touch! The backs have the 'Hope Ribbon' stamped on so people getting them as a gift know they are a Breast Cancer support pin.

So here is the display board for them ...

Here is the Heart to Heart magnet the back layer is covered with Dazzling Diamonds and the front is stamped with the Heart from the Hostess Set Punch Potpourri and some jazzy Rhinestone gems for bling factor.

Butterfly magnet number one is stamped with the swirls from the Priceless stamp set and adorned with some pearls and sponged on the edge with Melon Mambo and her wings are trimmed with Dazzling Diamonds!

Butterfly number two is stamped with the Elements of Style, sponged with Melon Mambo and covered in glitter and some pearls to accent her!

Butterfly number three is stamped in Certainly Celery with the floral vines from Vintage Vogue and has her wings sponged with Melon Mambo just a tiny bit of glitter and some pearls.

Butterfly number four is stamped with the Priceless vines centered around the 'Hope Ribbon' for those wanting to make a tribute to the Breast Cancer fight ... two little pearls accentuate her wings!

And or fifth butterfly is stamped with the En Fracias background stamp, sponged with Melon Mambo and edged with Dazzling Diamonds glitter and some mini pearls to accent her!
All of the pieces were then covered in Chrystal Effects medium to give them both the shine factor and the sturdiness to hold up as a pin or magnet.

If you are interested in purchasing a pin to help raise funds for Breast Cancer research come on out to the Gibraltar Market this weekend!

Stamp Around Wheels

These are cards designed by my upline Liz Goldhawk ... as a member of her team I am blessed to attend team meetings and technique classes with her so we can stretch our creative souls and grown our businesses together - just another example of the wonderful supportive atmosphere Stampin' Up promotes!

This month we were working with the Stamp Around Wheels - something I admit I had not yet really played with and am so excited now at the versatility of these wonderful tools!

The first card we made showcased how to use the Baroque Border wheel (although any abstract patterned wheel will work) to create a frame using a paper mask technique .... doesn't it make such a pretty card!

This second card was TOTALLY rocking... using the Very Vintage jumbo wheel we rolled the image on the background Marina Mist paper and than on the Whisper White strip we used a mask that Liz created using the different size Circle punches and placed this over the paper and rolled the Vintage wheel over it and then highlighted the circles with a Stamp Write maker - totally cool effect! The top layer is using the Vintage Vogue Stamp set flowers in Cherry Cobbler and vines in Marina Mist. The cool Cherry Cobbler paper accent ribbon is made with our Ribbon punch.

Trick or treat

Trick or Treat goodie bags for sale at the Run for the Cure ... options will be to buy them either empty to fill yourself or some will have either crayons and mini colouring books or some candies in them.

This project uses the Fancy Favor Bigz Die, Wicked Cool stamp set and the crimper to make the handle on the one bag and satin ribbon on the other with brads holding them in place!

The little spider accent on the one sample is NOT a Stampin' Up product but a stamp from another company...but I wanted a spider and did not have a Stampin' Up option at this point in my collection.

Five more cards for Run for the Cure

Five cards from a 6x6 piece of Designer 'Breast Cancer' themed scrap paper combined with my Stampin' Up! Products to make some awesome cards for the Run for the Cure fundraiser!

Once again I paired the Vintage Vogue stamp set and the Melon Mambo card stock- as the pink flower paper from the Breast cancer paper was a perfect match for both!

Card number one I made my own faux ribbon with a border stamp from Vintage vogue and the paper crimper and accented with some mini pearls!

Card number two has some Modern Label accents and the Friend stamp from Vintage Vogue.

Card number three some Pink Pirouette ribbon accented with the Decorative label and Oval punches.

Card number four is the Eyelet border punch double punched to make a ribbon paired with the Scallop Oval and medium oval punches.

Card number five has some nice Pretty in Pink Satin ribbon as an accent and versamarked Vintage Vogue stamps on the Melon mambo card stock for a background paper.

All five cards come wrapped in a gift box with the I wear Pink Breast Cancer sentiment and with matching envelopes stamped with the Vintage Vogue floral border... $15 for the set and for a great cause!

Lady with an Alligator Purse

Today I was having fun brainstorming a request to make a pocket envelope card or bag for a friends business. She wanted something simple to hold a few business related items for customers!

I had been dying to try out this embossing technique and figured - what can be more fun than making an alligator purse and wouldn't it be a cute little 'gift' for her customers!

The first one is a plain purse highlighted with the faux alligator skin top and the 5 petal flower punch accented with a Star from the Stars Die Cut and a little brad as the 'clasp' holding the purse closed. However this one just felt like something was 'missing'.

So I added a little texture with a little bit of Versamark and the little Stars from the Canada Day Stamp set....this ties the purses in with her Thank you card theme.

Here is a side view of the purse with a little accordion style side that will allow a few small objects to be placed inside the purse for sharing with customers.

I also tweaked the inside of the Thank you card design to allow for the adding of a business card or customer appreciation gift card.

Hope she likes them!

Technique Tuesday classes - Embossing

Preparing for next weeks technique class - we are featuring heat embossing and heat embossing resist.

We will practicing the technique on our 6X6 card shown here ... using the Snow Swirled Tree Stamp.

Here is the first card design we will be making using the Delightful Decorations stamp set as well as the ornament from the Perfect Punches clear mount stamp set. The background paper is from our Jolly Holly Designer Series paper and participants can choose between the small polka dot paper or the larger polka dots! Added a little bling with our new Jewels Rhinestones :)

The second card shown here is showcasing the Lovely as a Tree stamp set embossed on Whisper White paper and then brayered over with Night of Navy Ink. The background layer is embossed using Iridescent Ice powder.
