Happy Thanksgiving!

Hope everyone has enjoyed their Thanksgiving weekend... we just finished and I am taking a break to blog before tackling the clean up!

This is one of the cards we will be making at tomorrow nights technique class ... it uses the 'Iris Fold' technique!

Love how the Well Worn DSP coordinates with this technique and the Just Believe stamp set ... Night of Navy, Cajun Craze and Very Vanilla look lovely together!

Just Believe in Recycling ...

This was another quick and easy card I made the other day as I was going through my scraps and realized that I had lots of these 'Top Note Frames' in my scraps from when I cut out the Top Note for other uses but did not want to waste the paper.

So here we have a Not Quite Navy card base with a Naturals White Top Note Frame which I paper pierced on the corners to give it some character and than used it to frame a White Embossed Just Believe stamped image and than using my Versamarker I added some Melon Mambo embossing powder to just the flowers and the Thank you sentiment....and that is how a scrap of paper gets recycled into a beautiful Thank You card!

Just Believe in Paisley

Another quick and simple card featuring our Designer Series Paper - Paisley Petals ... DSP makes a very nice accent to card making ... this card was a quick less than 5 minute card.

Main card color is Certainly Celery, versamarked with the Just Believe floral stamp and sentiment with some Calyspo Coral Butterflies from the Butterfly Wings embosslit that were sponged with some Frost White shimmer paint and adhered with glue dots so that the wings can remain 3D.

The front of the page is torn to reveal a piece of 2 inch by 5.5 inch DSP on the inside of the card.

Just Believe in Designer Frames

Today was my Saturday Stamp a Stack and we had an awesome time together with lot of laughter and stories being shared - hardly seems fair to call it 'work' - but shhh do not tell my spouse cause he thinks it is really hard work ;-)

Here is one of the cards we made - new Designer Frames textured embossing folders are too cute and the In Color's for 2011-12 are a lot of fun to showcase!

This color combo for this card is Calypso Coral with Red Ridinghood and Lucky Limeade and Whisper White. The card front was stamped with the Just Believe stamp set using the Calypso Coral and Lucky Limeade Stamp Write Markers on Whisper White paper and than dry embossed with the Square Lattice Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and again with the new Designer Frames Oval folder using the Selective Embossing technique.

The extra large oval punch was used to punch out the sentiment which fits inside the Designer Frame Oval perfectly!

Creative Scrappers #152 meets Saturday ScrapSketch27

So the craft room is almost back to a temporary state of workablity - in that everything is back in its container and sorted from the big fall and a small work space is emerging.

As they say everything happens for a reason - my other half has taken pity on me and the perils of 'store bought materials' and their lack of quality these days and taken measurements to build me a custom made storage unit to hold my papers, punches and other products!!!

In the meantime another MDS offering inspired by the Saturday ScrapSketch 27 over on My Digital Studio offered by Alesha Walls ...

Which I used to create the following right page layout using the new Color Challenge from over at Color Q I missed the deadline for it however loved that it showcased some of the awesome colors in the new Beyond the Garden DSP! Also love how the button gives so much dimension stretched up so large - hoping it turns out as crisp when printed!

Then we blog hopped over to the Creative Scrappers and participated in the Sketch #152 which as such a pretty layout as well!

And here is my left side layout for this challenge ... again using the same colour scheme, Beyond the Garden DSP and accenting with a Beautiful Butterfly die layered with textured papers to create the sponged look and depth and some half back pearls for bling factor! I also used the Just Believe stamp set at 20% opacity on the Crumb Cake background to give a tone on tone Wersamark look!

Thanks for stopping by!

Friday Mashup!

Ok - so the craft room has had a tragic accident - the three shelf wall storage unit that I had over top of my workspace came crashing down the past week despite the 300 pound wall anchors holding it!

Fortunately the universe was looking out for me and neither I nor anyone else was IN the craft room at the time having just momentarily vacated it to head upstairs for lunch with the kids!

However the proceeding mess and lack of storage has made it a little less than workable in there - so no traditional cards until I can carve out sometime to shop for new storage solutions!

So for this weeks Friday Mashup I had went to my trustee much loved My Digital Studio to get creative with the layout and color scheme ... and had so much fun I created not one but THREE entries and finally had to tell myself to stop and go make dinner!

Entry number one makes use of the Blueberry Crisp DSP, Baroque Motifs stamp set which I think matches the DSP perfectly when accented with some Flower Brads with some Pearl Accents

Entry number two was inspired by a desire to create a more masculine care so I went with the new Nautical Expedition Designer Series paper and matching Open Sea stamp set with the sentiment from the For All You Do stamp set.

Finally entry number three uses the Filled with Love stamp set to create the background paper and paired it with the Just Believe floral image and sentiment of the Elements of Style sentiment.

Double sided Laylout

This double sided layout ties together the challenge from over on My Digital Studio as well as Sketchy Thursdays 3.03 sketch challenge.

The right side page was inspired by this layout from Alesha Walls on My Digital Studio ... just loved the rolling hills look!

Here is my creation using her layout template ... I used quite the potpourri of products to create this including the new DSP from the Strength and Hope campaign digital kit, floral stamps from Printed Petals, Petal Pizazz, So Happy for You and Just Believe stamp sets and some Gold Glimmer brads to accent the white flowers.

The left hand side was a mirror of the right hand side with the photo layout and journaling inspired from the Sketchy Thursday 3.03 this week.

I felt the the photos spoke for themselves with this layout and as a result chose to borrow the sentiment stamp from my new Strength and Hope Campaign digital download as my journal words for this layout because they are all words that come to mind when I think of my little nephew here!

Sunday Sketchy 51

This is a card I created after being inspired by Liz Goldhawk's Sketchy Sunday over on her blog - Liz is my upline mentor and she is SO full of great ideas!

So here is the sketch ...

And here is my inspiration from that sketch ... a Just Believe Black Magic card ... the color combination of Early Espresso, Poppy Parade and Blushing Bride came from the Color Q challenge #70 last week as well.

I love the paper flowers ... they are so easy to color with a sponge dauber and some ink ... this card was just so much fun to make ... and if you like it make sure to register for my Stamp a Stack on February 26th because this will be one of the featured cards!

Scrapbooking Sketch

So over at the My Digital Studio website they have some cool challenges to play along to and i finally found some time to play again.

So this weeks challenge was this layout ...

Which inspired this front page from our Staycation to Niagara Falls in 2008 along with the remaining 3 pages of the spread. I was able to squeeze in using my new est digital downloads ... the Just Believe stamp set as well as the new Glimmer brad and the Decorative label and ribbon punch downloads!

More Just Believe

This stamp set is just SO wonderfully versatile! Here it is being used with the Versamark resist brayering technique ... so stamp the image in versamark and allow it to dry and than load up your brayer with two corresponding colours and roll over it and the Versamark image resists the new colours leaving the 'white' image popping out!

I also love how Stampin' Up paper daisies can be coloured to match and blend so perfectly together :)

Just Believe

This is one of my new favorite stamp sets ... who am I kidding they are pretty much ALL my favorites but this is the one I have been dying to get playing with most recently - so I was excited to see it showcased at our Card swap last weekend!

This card showcased the 'faux water colouring' technique that Liz did a rewind on at our team meeting ... meaning revisiting a technique she had already showcased at her classes!

The ribbon punch is another one being pushed to the top of my wish list each time I use it ... love how quick and easy it punches both sides of the ribbon leaving a nice flat line edge left over for the next use of the paper - very little waste left over with it!

October Shoebox Swap

I love the Shoebox Swap .... similar to the old cookie exchange ... except everyone brings the ingredients and you get to 'bake' your own!

This is the card that Liz my upline mentor shared this past weekend at our team meeting and shoebox swap. Featuring the Just Believe Stamp set and a water colouring technique this is just a very striking card ... love the colour combination of Crumb Cake, Rose Red and Perfect Plum!

We also came up with the team suggestion that Stampin' Up needs to create a punch for the sentiment frame and than they can create some additional stamp frames in that shape to go with it ... it just offers such a nice finishing layer to the card!
