Creative Scrappers #152 meets Saturday ScrapSketch27

So the craft room is almost back to a temporary state of workablity - in that everything is back in its container and sorted from the big fall and a small work space is emerging.

As they say everything happens for a reason - my other half has taken pity on me and the perils of 'store bought materials' and their lack of quality these days and taken measurements to build me a custom made storage unit to hold my papers, punches and other products!!!

In the meantime another MDS offering inspired by the Saturday ScrapSketch 27 over on My Digital Studio offered by Alesha Walls ...

Which I used to create the following right page layout using the new Color Challenge from over at Color Q I missed the deadline for it however loved that it showcased some of the awesome colors in the new Beyond the Garden DSP! Also love how the button gives so much dimension stretched up so large - hoping it turns out as crisp when printed!

Then we blog hopped over to the Creative Scrappers and participated in the Sketch #152 which as such a pretty layout as well!

And here is my left side layout for this challenge ... again using the same colour scheme, Beyond the Garden DSP and accenting with a Beautiful Butterfly die layered with textured papers to create the sponged look and depth and some half back pearls for bling factor! I also used the Just Believe stamp set at 20% opacity on the Crumb Cake background to give a tone on tone Wersamark look!

Thanks for stopping by!

Scrapsketch 26 & Color Q

Congratulations to Alesha Walls on the safe arrival of her newest addition to the family - a beautiful baby girl - whose arrival inspired this weeks Saturday Scrapsketch over on My Digital Studio!

I was also inspired to incorporate into my layout this weeks Color Q challenge as well as ... such pretty combination of colors - felt so springy.

So inspired by these two challenges I looked through my 'Vintage' photos of my childcare and came across these fun ones from an afternoon at the Great Aunt's yard - blowing bubbles and having fun - I have many a fond memory of playing at their place on a Sunday afternoon!

I incorporated a lot of different elements into these pages ... the Sweet Stitches DSP paper, Baroque Motif brush stamp vine, One of a Kind brush stamp set and lots of half back pearls and glimmer brads!

Double sided Laylout

This double sided layout ties together the challenge from over on My Digital Studio as well as Sketchy Thursdays 3.03 sketch challenge.

The right side page was inspired by this layout from Alesha Walls on My Digital Studio ... just loved the rolling hills look!

Here is my creation using her layout template ... I used quite the potpourri of products to create this including the new DSP from the Strength and Hope campaign digital kit, floral stamps from Printed Petals, Petal Pizazz, So Happy for You and Just Believe stamp sets and some Gold Glimmer brads to accent the white flowers.

The left hand side was a mirror of the right hand side with the photo layout and journaling inspired from the Sketchy Thursday 3.03 this week.

I felt the the photos spoke for themselves with this layout and as a result chose to borrow the sentiment stamp from my new Strength and Hope Campaign digital download as my journal words for this layout because they are all words that come to mind when I think of my little nephew here!

ScrapSketch19 - Moms Graduation

Here is this weeks Scrapsketch inspiration from over at My Digital Studio ... this one gave me a chance to play with the Autumn Spice Designer Series Paper and to use some of the new Fabric buttons!

These photos are digital conversions of my Mother's first University Graduation in October 1976 ... so I was 7 years old here - seems a life time ago!

ScrapSketch 15

For Christmas this year we chipped in and bought my Aunt a 3mm slide and photo digital converter as she is the keeper of the family memories at this point! She has been very busy already converting some of the boxes and boxes of slides from family who have since left this earth for peaceful pastures!

I used this weeks Saturday Scrapsketch as an inspiration to scrapbook my Grandparents Wedding and 40th Anniversary ... were they still with us they would have celebrated their 72nd this past September.

I was inspired to use Sepia tone and the Elegant Soire Designer Series paper with vintage overlay brush sets to give the background paper that 'aged' look and some pretty paper daisies to add some bling!

ScrapSketch 14

This weeks Scrapsketch 14 inspired layouts from My Digital Studio highlight our mini vacation to Desert Lake back in 2009!

Used a potpourri of MDS downloads here ... the Vintage Overlay brush set, to create the background papers and accented the pages with the Sentimental Journey brush set, Charmed brush set!

We had a blast on this trip BTW - would totally recommend the Desert Lake Family Resort to anyone looking for a nice quiet family vacation - great facilities for camping, awesome scenic lake for fishing - it was loads of fun!

ScrapSketch 13

Well here is this weeks Scrapsketch Challenge from the My Digital Studio website .... had lots of fun playing with the Lap of Luxury DSP and and the Broadsheet Stamp set and the flower vine is from Thoughts and Prayers to create some layouts of a visit to Grandma's ... this was from back in 2005 when Mr Dude was sporting the summer doo of a shaved head to keep cool - now a days he likes it long and shaggy and will just cope with the being hot ... ah the signs of growing up when fashion takes a forefront to comfort!

Hope the boys do not find it too 'flowery' but I just could not help myself once I got started with the purple papers it just needed some summer flowers!

ScrapSketch Challenges

Been busy over the holidays with the My Digital Studio and catching up on some of the previous Scrapsketch challenges from over at My Digital Studio website!

This scrapbook series features the Blueberry Crisp Designer series paper download - truly beautiful color combination that matched the 'vintage' look of the 1000 Island Tour that ended at the Boldt Castle ... a wonderful vacation experience for anyone looking for something cool to do in the summer I might add!

I cannot wait to get this printed although I am waffling between deciding if it is better to do them as single pages in a traditional scrapbook or to wait until I get caught up and have a 'bound coffee table scrapbook' made - the choices are just so versatile for the Digital scrapbooking!

Scrapbooking Sketch

Yup I am getting addicted to the My Digital Studio Saturday sketches! Think I might have to go back to the beginning to catch up on the ones I missed!

These are just so much fun and help you think outside the box getting your inspiration started with a different layout challenge or different ways to use embellishments!

With this challenge I used the new Blueberry Crisp Designer Series paper download as well as my favorite Elements of Style and In a Word stamp sets and thew in a little Vintage Vogue for good measure - they looks so good with my awesomely handsome men!

Huge thank you to Alesha Walls
a fellow demo for getting each weeks sketch going!

Scrapbooking Sketch

So over at the My Digital Studio website they have some cool challenges to play along to and i finally found some time to play again.

So this weeks challenge was this layout ...

Which inspired this front page from our Staycation to Niagara Falls in 2008 along with the remaining 3 pages of the spread. I was able to squeeze in using my new est digital downloads ... the Just Believe stamp set as well as the new Glimmer brad and the Decorative label and ribbon punch downloads!
