Fabulous Florets

Another card from this months Stamp-a-Stack ... really loving the Lucky Limeade it is such a striking shade of green!

This Sympathy card features the Fabulous Florets stamp set embossed with white and sponged in Pretty in Pink and Pink Pirouette with the Lucky Limeade accents!
The back layer of the card was run through the Elegant Lines Emboss folder and the Corner Ticket punch to help some of the Pink Pirouette paper pop from the front layer.

The second card is the same layout we just switched up the back layers embossing folder to try in out the new Stripes emboss folder - which I love with the Organza ribbon and cannot wait to play with some more to see it used with other techniques!

The Saturday Stamp-a-Stacks are a load of fun and we are always welcoming new friends to the Stampin' table - to check out the classes please feel free to check out My Events calendar and sign up for a class!

Happy Stampin'

Thank You Cards - Boxed Sets

These a some custom order Thank you cards I have designed for a friend. She requested something with a Star theme in purples and greens. I did up two different designs to choose from both featuring Rich Razzleberry and Certainly Celery colours cause they seemed the closest match to her business logo.

This first card I used the Canada Day stamp set from our Summer Mini to create the background paper. The sentiment is from a retired stamp set Kind and Caring Thoughts. The stars are die cut from the Stars die set and I stamped them with the fireworks from the Canada Day set and sponged the edges to give them a bit of dimension! The inside of this card is black to add a personalized sentiment.

The second card design I used the Big Shot and a thank you embossing folder and embossed the Rich Razzleberry cardstock with thank you wording. This layer is wrapped that with some polka dotted grosgrain ribbon and than to finish it off I adhered a Rich Razzleberry Star accented with another star cut out of our Designer Series paper and a Razzleberry brad to hold it in place. The inside of the card is blank with some tiny star accents in the corners to jazz it up a notch.

The 10 card set come in a coordinating gift box with matching envelopes.

2 Step Poinsettia

This card is SO cool ... although looks like I need to practice my symmetrical placement of pieces .... but aside from being off centered .... look how the poinsettia leaves are the perfect cuts each time! Wondering how that is done? Easily peasily .... cause this card features the 2 step BIRD punch! Amazing eh?

Plus Nancy sprayed the real red paper with some Platinum Shimmer paint - which she mixed with alcohol in a spritz bottle to mist it - which worked to make it all sparkly - something that never shows up as pretty in a photo!

A Rose by any other name

This is my first attempt at the 'Ornament Rose' .... it uses the Stampin' Up ornament punch and each ornament shape is sponged around the edges and than curled to give it the 3D look and than glued onto a 1/34 circle to put it together.

Actually a quick and easy flower to make although it turned out a little larger than I had anticipated it would - the Stampin' Up! tutorial called for 18 punched ornaments and I think I ended up using almost 24 by the time I was done - typical of my style though - why use only 18 when 24 will do!

I used my favorite ticket corner punch as well and than for the first time I was inspired to try and use a paper piercer to give a little dimension to my paper layer - what a lot of fun that is - very therapeutic relaxation for any women who has stress in their life ... I am thinking the paper piercer will be making more appearances on my cards!

And what about those dainty half back pearls? Do they not just give it that subtle elegance?

I stamped an envelope out of habit - but in hindsight I am thinking that this card would work awesome as a 'bow / gift tag combo' on a gift for someone special!

I am planning on making up some of these to sell for the 'Run for the Cure' fund-raising for our Bold and Boobiful team! You can check out more about the Run for the Cure here!

My Open House - a 'business warming' party!

WOW ... I had an awesome busy weekend so my apologizes for not posting on the blog this weekend.

I had my first open house 'business warming party' and my thanks to everyone who was able to come out to support me I had an awesome time and hope everyone else did as well!

We made two cards this is the first one featuring the Because I Care hostess stamp and showcasing the corner punch and ornament punch and colour spritzer tool - which rocks for making a 'antiqued' looking paper depending on the colour choices!

Our second card features the Elements of Style stamp set and showcased the ease of the Big Shot and the Daisies 2 bigz die as well as the ticket corner punch.

I wasn't sure how I was going to fit everyone into my little living dining room while still creating an 'inviting space' but I hope I pulled it off!

Even carved out a little niche for a card and project display for people to peruse to get inspiration on how Stampin' Up! products can be used to create wonderful unique cards!

And well not social gathering will be complete without some yummy food for sharing over great conversation and card making .... thanks again to family and friends for making my open house a success ;-)

Inspired by Nature

I love the versatility of the Inspired by Nature set... it is just beautiful on its own and all you need to do is change up the colour to make it a unique card ... and have to admit that Rich Razzleberry and Old Olive are one of my favorite Stampin' Up Colour combination's! The ticket corner punch combined with the eyelet border punch also finish off this card by punching it up a notch of layering!
