Stampin' Up! Blendabilities Update

It is with much sadness that I share that Stampin' Up! has come to the difficult decision that, despite their huge popularity, our Blendabilities will no longer available for sale.

For more information on the manufacturing scenarios that led them to come to this difficult decision as well as what to do if you've recently purchased Blendabilites that have been on back order please click here for the FAQ sheet. To my knowledge unless you ordered online none of my customers are waiting on a Blendabilities back order as part of their Sale-a-bration orders but if I am mistaken please ensure you fill out the Survey link in the FAQ sheet to ensure that you can get your alternative choice.

In the meantime, while it is disappointing to loose our alcohol based line, we would like to remind customers that we still have many amazing coloring options for your paper crafting needs that can create a very similar look to the Blendabilities using a couple add on tools!

Colour Q #96

This card color combo was inspired by this weeks Colour Q challenge .... unfortunately I did not get my act together in time to submit it ... I got distracted by some rather yummy naughty smoothies this weekend ... but love the colour combination!

So inspired by the colour combination I went in search of a stamp set that matched the inspiration and came up with the new Up Up and Away stamp set ... I used my brayer on Whisper White paper to make a Bashful Blue sky and Lucky Limeade green space which was versamarked with Pocket Silhouette stamp for texture.
The Up Up and Away balloons were done in two ways - the middle balloon is versamarked and heat embossed with the Tempting Turquoise and that two balloons on the side are done with the Stamp Write Markers to allow for two tone balloons in Bashful Blue and Tempting Turquoise.

The clouds, birds and baskets are in Basic Gray with a little Tangerine Tango thrown in for the sun.

Selective Embossing Tricks

Next weeks Technique Tuesday class is going to cover the many varied tricks with  'Selective Embossing' using the Big Shot and Embossing folders - so this week I have been playing trying to choose a couple cards to showcase to the wonderful ladies in my group!

This card here is a basic sample of a quick and easy technique where the top and bottom of a layer are embossed with the Perfect Polka Dots leaving the middle free to be stamped!

I used the Cupcake wheel here and ran it across with the Basic Black ink and than colored them in using Pretty in Pink, Chocolate Chip and Cherry Cobbler color combo and than versamarked and embossed with Iridescent Ice on the clear white icing!

Also was able to showcase the Tagtastic Hostess set again - cute little set that works awesome with the Decorative Label punch - this time I colored it with the Stamp Write Markers to make a multi colored image.

Hybrid Motorcycle

I missed out on getting this stamp in the Summer mini last year but was ecstatic to see it come out on MDS cause that gave me a second chance - with the added benefits of no need for storage plus 'resizing' options.

Again - I printed this at home directly to Watercolour paper and than colored it with my Stamp Write Markers and Aquapainter and added a little bling with gold glitter and the two way glue pen! Also brought out my Colour Spritz to spray some 'crumb cake dirt' onto the cardstock back layer - love this tool!

And for the sentiment I paired together the enjoy and life words from the fabulous phrases stamp set and stamped it along the envelope as well - which will leave a nice 'generic card' for when an occasion arises to send this babe out to a loved one!

Valentines Games

These are some cute little games that I made up for the daycare kids this Valentines ... they loved the Dollar Store version of these games from a previous b-day party goodie bags so thought making a home made version would be fun!

Up close peek ... took me forever to get them all inline for the photo - thankfully the kids are much better at this game!

... love the shiny glitter paper and it made for a nice firm backing for the games ... stamped with Greeting Card girl and coloured with Stamp Write markers and holes punched with the Crop-o-dile ... and that using the sweet treat cups added some edible silver balls from the Wedding section of the Bulk Barn for the metal balls - so with this version if the kids rip it open the little pieces are at least edible and not so much a choking hazzard than the Dollar Store version!

Sensational Swaps

One of the thing I LOVE about Stampin' Up! is the wonderful supportive and collaborative nature of the business - you never feel truly 'alone' in your endeavors! Our team meetings are always inspirational and we get to do card swaps to showcase and play with products we might not yet have purchased - this card is a prime example of how AWESOME getting to do swaps is!

The card is designed by Liz Goldhawk my upline and features the Stamp set Merry Crittermas from our Holiday mini which rolls out WEDNESDAY with some awesome new products I cannot wait to add to my collection! The paper is also from the Holiday mini called Candy Cane Christmas and the new Rectangle Scallop Duo Bigz die is also featured as well as the 2 1/2 inch circle punch. It is such a cutie!

Run for the Cure Hybrid Series - part two

After a lovely day of shopping with my sister here in NY - where I got some awesome deals off my wish list! I thought I would take a moment to share another card - the joy of technology that I can be here on vacation and still sharing my stampin' passion with others! I downloaded these cards to my laptop before I left and even brought some water colouring images and my Stamp Write markers and aqua painter so I can create here too ..... cause creating is a vacation in of itself ;)

So without further ado here is another installation for my Run for the Cure - Pink themed card set ... I love the flowing dress from this stamp set- fun to water colour and hard to see but I blinged it up for a night on the town with some GLITTER always fun to add glitter!

Run for the Cure Hybrid Series

OK ... this card is a hybrid meaning that it features both Stampin' up! products ....including the new Decorative Label punch from the Holiday mini ....as well as the Fight like a Girl stamp set from the Breast Cancer Foundation which has been water coloured with my Stamp Write Markers and aqua painter and Pretty in Pink marker and Melon Mambo shading!

These are cards I am going to be packaging up and selling to raise funds for the Run for the Cure on October 3rd. The inside of the card is blank so that it can be used for any occasion .... and there are several more in the collection for another day ;)

More Halloween Cards ...

I am just totally loving this card set .... so much I could not wait for October to start playing with it! I love the water colouring - it is so relaxing and reminds me of simple times of being a kid and turning something plain into something spectacular :)

The sentiment and spider web are from a clear mount stamp set from another company purchased before I was addicted to Stampin' Up products ;)

Halloween colour inspirations used in this card are Pumpkin Pie, Rich Razzleberry, Certainly Celery and Basic Black.

Used the Elements of Style vines to mimic pumpkin vines on the Razzleberry paper layer.

My Open House - a 'business warming' party!

WOW ... I had an awesome busy weekend so my apologizes for not posting on the blog this weekend.

I had my first open house 'business warming party' and my thanks to everyone who was able to come out to support me I had an awesome time and hope everyone else did as well!

We made two cards this is the first one featuring the Because I Care hostess stamp and showcasing the corner punch and ornament punch and colour spritzer tool - which rocks for making a 'antiqued' looking paper depending on the colour choices!

Our second card features the Elements of Style stamp set and showcased the ease of the Big Shot and the Daisies 2 bigz die as well as the ticket corner punch.

I wasn't sure how I was going to fit everyone into my little living dining room while still creating an 'inviting space' but I hope I pulled it off!

Even carved out a little niche for a card and project display for people to peruse to get inspiration on how Stampin' Up! products can be used to create wonderful unique cards!

And well not social gathering will be complete without some yummy food for sharing over great conversation and card making .... thanks again to family and friends for making my open house a success ;-)

Back with more Bloomin Beautiful

Unfortunately the Bloomin' Beautiful is a retired set ... but I just love it ... there is a current set in the new catalog called Happiness Shared that is very similar just has not made it into my stampin' closet yet.

This particular set is great for 'layering' to give the flower pop factor ... I think this one might be another card to make it into the Run for the Cure fund-raising collection!

Bloomin Beautiful

This is a retired stamp set called Bloomin' Beautiful that retired July 1st with the new catty unveiling - but it is so beautiful for water colouring - I just had to share to show off how great the Stamp Write markers are for the water colour technique ... I LOVE water colouring with the markers and my aqua painter :)

With this card after I water coloured the leaves with Night of Navy and used the same colour for the shading. Then when it was dry - I topped the leaves with Chrystal Effects for that 'fresh morning dew' look for the card!

Still Inspired by Nature

I just love this stamp set! When we were in Niagara Falls this weekend there was a garden full of this colour combination that I just could not get enough of watching while we waited in line to ride the Aero Whirlpool Car!

Watercolour Trio

I am loving this colour combination too ... this card features Elegant Eggplant and Always Artichoke ... IMO they just compliment each other so nicely!

I learned another awesome trick and it was used on this card ... dying your plain white ribbon any coordinating colour you like by using your Stampin' Up! Markers and setting it aside to dry before adding it to your card .... so if your storage space is limited in your craft room you can focus on some pretty white ribbons and then just colour them in to match your paper! A perfect solution for any petite craft room.

Inspired by Nature

I love the versatility of the Inspired by Nature set... it is just beautiful on its own and all you need to do is change up the colour to make it a unique card ... and have to admit that Rich Razzleberry and Old Olive are one of my favorite Stampin' Up Colour combination's! The ticket corner punch combined with the eyelet border punch also finish off this card by punching it up a notch of layering!
