Notably Ornate Hybrid Card

A huge thank you to Mandy Grant over on My Digital Studio website for sharing the video on creating hybrid cards with My Digital Studio and traditional stamp sets.

I played on the inspiration drawn from Mandy's video and the Color Q challenge 70 from last week of combing Poppy Parade, Blushing Bride, Cameo Coral, Early Expresso and Very Vanilla and to add in an additional level of multi-tasking my upline challenge this month was 'use your blender pens' which I did to help create the card below!

Here is an up close view of the hybrid portion of the card ... using the MDS program to cover up and interchange the sentiments that normally go with this stamp set...and you can see in the background how I used the blender pen to create shading with the flower using Poppy Parade and Blushing Bride inks!

If this is a card you would like to try making it will be showcased in my upcoming Stamp a Stack on February 26th ... shoot me an email today to register!

I love Snowman

Here is another offering from the recent Stamp for the Cure ... Snowman are just so much fun and versatile for both the holidays and winter birthdays as well!

Simple and quick this card was lots of fun to make ... nothing like carving out some time for the relaxation of colouring!

Wonder Wheels - encore

Sorry to be so long between posting .... been very busy preparing for Halloween with the kiddies!

This month I combined my Card Swap for my team meeting with the card I designed for my November technique class. This month we are revisiting the Wonderful Wheels from last month ... here is one of the cards we will be making!

This card features the Baby Tee wheel ... which I personally LOVE because there are so many different ways you can use this wheel - including carefully cutting out the little T's and popping them up. in different layers over the wheeled image or just solo with other stamp sets!

I was trying to go for a 'generic' colour combination but was having trouble choosing a third colour to go with the yellow/green so pulled out my trusty Colour Coach! So this colour combination of Daffodil Delight, Old Olive and Night of Navy came from the Colour Coach Creative combo suggestions...which worked out awesome cause turns out this is this weeks Color Dare challenge so I can submit for it as well!

I also think that the Baby Tees partners very well with our Polka Dot Emboss folder and snuck in some glitter brad bling.

Upsy Daisy Congratulations

I am back with the Mojo Monday Challenge inspired layout using a 'traditional' approach!

Using the same 'layout' inspiration as my MDS card from yesterday - this card features the Upsy Daisy stamp set, Eyelet punch to make my ribbon, the Modern Window punch. My background paper is made using the dragging a stamp pad across the paper technique and the bottom is the Polka Dot embossing folder.

Inside the card ... Occasional Quotes hostess set celebrating the new baby!

Black Magic ... under my spell

This technique is totally cool ... called Black Magic with a twist and is a combination of using white ink on a dark background and than colouring with Stampin Up Water colour pencils and a white gel pen for that extra magic pop factor!

The first card features the Watercolour Trio stamp set in the 2010 Summer mini catalog, the Top Note Bigz die and the scallop trim punch ... awesome combination inspired by Liz Goldhawk my up line mentor!

This section card is from the new catalog called Just Believe and is a cute little set!

This is cool - follow up from my sneak peek

This was so much FUN for me last night .... making your own designer series paper and turning it to 5 coordinating cards ... going to be making a lot of these in the near future to prepare for the Run for the Cure fundraiser!

First you choose a 'color scheme' for your card. I chose Blushing Bride, Regal Rose, Melon Mambo and Whisper White ... a think pink theme for the Breast Cancer awareness!

Than you take a 6x6 piece of card stock and choose a stamp set for your background to work with - I chose Vintage Vogue.

You than stamp your background in the lightest color and the largest stamp you are going to use ... so in this case I chose Versamark for the vines from the set for the very back ground.

Next choose your next shade of ink and your next largest stamp image - so in this case I chose Whisper White ink and the flowers from the Vintage Vogue Set.
Than you use the Quarter Wonder page cutting dimensions from Sharon's website http://createdbyu.blogspot.com/2010/06/quarter-sheet-wonder-tutorial.html to cut and prep your paper ... and finally you have fun creating your cards ... so here are my 5 card samples

Finally with a few scorelines and a couple cuts - you can even make a little box out of paper and decorate it up for a little 'gift package' for someone .... project complete ... and in one night I made FOUR of these little beauties to add to my fund raising pile!

A Little Bit of Magic ...

This little set is going to be A LOT of fun ... here is my first attempt with water colouring her. Isn't she just the sweetest little thing you have ever seen!

I coloured her dress with shades of Concord Grape, her wings are in Melon Mambo and I just had to sneak a little glitter on them with some Stickles! The flower is Daffodil Delight and Pumpkin Pie and hard to see in the photo but Chrystal Effects to make it shine ... so pretty! The grass and leaves are in Certainly Celery and shaded with Old Olive ... the sky is coloured in Bashful blue. Card stock is Bashful blue and Concord Grape with an Old Olive Ribbon to tie it all together!

My apologies for picture quality - my camera has died and I am using Paul's at the moment!
